Comfort
The
Grey Gull is one of the more interesting and uniquely shaped
hotels in Ocean Shores. Just
like its name sake, it
is shaped more like a bird overall and grey to match. This
is actually a wonderful hotel that prides its self on providing
a relaxing atmosphere and comfort to match. Each room in
the Grey Gull is individually owned. So there will be “different
touches” in each room like a 5 disc DVD player or stereo
system, board games and movies, literature, and unique decorations & art
work.
The
Grey Gull does offers dogs friendly rooms at an additional $10
plus tax, per room per night. The dog friendly rooms are subject
to availability . So inquire about their availability at the
time of booking to guarantee a room. Please note there is a
limit on the dog size allowed, 20 pounds or less.
Please Note: A 2 night minimum stay is required during weekend stays.

and rates seen here are only averages!
Check in 4pm, check out noon, and check-ins after 10PM will
need to call ahead for instructions. There is a 72 hour cancellation
policy prior to arrival. The reservation will be guaranteed by
valid credit card in the amount of the first night plus tax (a
deposit), and checks will not be accepted. If you do not cancel
at least 72 hours prior to your arrival date, you will be charged
a cancellation fee in the full amount of the deposit.

What
comes to mind for a room described as “efficiency” usual
refers to a plain room with no frills, no gimmicks, and a bed.
The Grey Gull’s version of “efficiency” is
a pleasant shock by comparison.
In
a studio style layout the Grey Gull starts with the quick basics
like a fully equipped kitchenette,
king size bed, and
a full bathroom. From there the room includes a gas fireplace,
tasteful done decorations & furniture, TV/VCR (A DVD player
is available in some rooms). The efficiency room is available
in dune, poolside, or ocean view with a sleeping limit of 2 people.

This
unit will have everything you need for a family of four. With
a larger layout than the
efficiency room, the one bedroom is equipped with a king size
bed in the bedroom, hide-a-bed
in the living room along with a gas fireplace & TV with VCR
or DVD player, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, and bathroom.
The one bedroom is available in dune, poolside, or ocean view
with a sleeping limit of 4 to 6 people. |

The deluxe one bedroom is similar to the one bedroom
in layout and amenities. The main differences include two traditional
queen beds in the bedroom, a queen size hide-a-bed in the living
room, and a wrap around balcony (with a panoramic view) that is
accessible from both the living area and the bedroom. The deluxe
one bedroom
is
available
in dune, poolside, or ocean view with a sleeping limit of 4 to
6 people.
Additionally the Grey
Gull does offer the deluxe one bedroom with an adjoining efficiency
room to accommodate larger parties.
Keep in mind the deluxe one bedroom/efficiency room combination
are subject to availability. So please inquire about availability
and pricing. The adjoining deluxe one bedroom has a sleeping limit
of 6 to 8 people.

If
you have a larger family or just need more room to keep the
peace, then the two bedroom could
be your safest bet. The two bedroom layout includes a king
size bed in the master bedroom, a double and twin beds in
the second
bedroom, and a queen size hide-a-bed in the living room.
There are two full bathrooms available with one in the master bedroom and the
other off from the hallway.
The other
included amenities are similar to a one bedroom.
The two bedroom is available in dune view only and a sleeping
limit of 7 people.

| If you have a large party (say 5 to 10 people) then
the Penthouse is the best location for you. This is the largest
room at the Grey Gull, and includes a two level layout with a large
open living area that allows you to see the ocean from both levels.
There is a narrow spiral staircase leading to the second level.
The main floor of
the Penthouse features two main bedrooms, large living area
with a gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen,
two bathrooms (is located in the left side, main bedroom),
a washer/dryer
located
in
the main bathroom, and a balcony offering a view of the ocean.
The second level provides another living/sleeping area (with
two
twins
and a
queen bed)
and an
extra bathroom.
For additional beds,
there are two roll-a-way beds with one available in the second
level closet and the other
in the closet of the left side, main bedroom on the first level.

The
Grey Gull offers the only outdoor pool and hot tub that is
open year round. The pool is kept at a warm 90°F, and the
hot tub is at a hot 104°F. Both the pool and
hot tub can be found in their enclosed court yard behind the
hotel.
Continuing
on the “grey gull” theme,
you’ll notice different “grey gulls” decorating
the court yard and even in the pool. Children that are under
the age of 15 are not allowed in the hot tub at any time. Hours
are from 10AM to 10 PM. |

Located just
off to the side from the guest lobby is a small, cozy sauna (great
for a small group, like 2 to 4 people). You will need to check
in at the front desk for the key to use it. |

Pretty much all the
ocean front hotels in Ocean Shores have a few trails leading
through the dunes to the beach. The Grey Gull goes a bit further
by making it easier to find them day or night with posts outfitted
with night time lights. |
