The Future

The Future for Ocean Shores

It seems that Ocean Shores has a knack for attracting celebrities to help with its growth. Erik Estrada, of CHIPs fame, visited here in June 2003 to help promote a company that he is the spokesperson for. National Recreational Properties Inc is a company that recently purchased approximately 370 lots in Ocean Shores for future development and marketing thru infomercials. The goal is to drive property values up and possibly bring in more affluent people to settle here.

There are other major changes on the horizon for many parts of town. In May 2004 construction is set to begin on what is being called the Aquarium Project, a 23 acre complex in the heart of town. It will contain a 30,00 square foot aquarium, a 45,000 square foot water park, a 15,000 square foot skateboard park, plus timeshares and improvements to the city.

A new convention center is also being built to attract larger groups into Ocean Shores.

Ocean Shores may be growing, but it will always be a small town to the people who call it home.
