Fishing

Whether you’re in the mood for freshwater, surf or saltwater fishing this is the place for you. In a single day you can cast your line into the ocean for perch, drop your line into the bay for salmon and cross the street and drop your line into the Grand Canal for bass.

You can purchase a one day fishing permit or a seasonal permit at the Ace Hardware in Ocean Shores or at the Wal-Mart in Aberdeen on the way into town.


Go-Karts and Slick Track
Great fun for young and old – test your driving skills or race your kid! Whether you choose the wet track in town at BJ’s or the Speedway down by the Marina – it’s always an experience!

Glassblowing Studio and Gallery
On the way to Ocean Shores in the sleepy little area called Cosmoplis is a glassblowing studio where anyone can go to make their own glass balls. It is called Opal Art Glass. They feature glassblowing demonstrations and their own glass art gallery. Call for gallery hours and glassblowing demonstration times. Phone: (360) 532-9268.

Horseback Riding
One of the most requested activities from visitors to Ocean Shores is horseback riding on the beach. Three horse ranches in the area offer different services from group rides to riding day camps for kids. Also available are the sunset rides, very romantic – a popular getaway for couples.
Chenois Creek Horse Rental offers beach riding along the Pacific Ocean for groups of two or more.
Nan-Sea Stables is located on your left as you are coming into Ocean Shores on State Rt. 115. They offer beach rides, trail rides, lessons and they also have boarding facilities, if you choose to bring your own horse with you.

Interpretive Center
The Ocean Shores Interpretive Center is a must-see for visitors. It's located next to the marina at the southern end of the Ocean Shores peninsula across from the Discovery Inn Motel. The center offers exhibits and programs focusing on the history, wildlife, and development of Ocean Shores.
Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day it is an enjoyable and educational experience for all ages.

Tsunami Beads, Gems, & Gifts

Would you like something out of the ordinary to take back from your vacation or as a special gift from the heart? There is a store in Ocean Shores that offers that, and can even help you make your own. It’s called Tsunami Beads, Gems, & Gifts, where you can choose from hundreds of beads and gems to create your own one of a kind jewelry expressions.

If making your own jewelry does not work for you, they offer a line unique jewelry and gifts (such as jewelry imported from Japur India and Desert Queen scents from Arizona), or just ask them to make the jewelry you want. Now matter what they are worth a look or give them a call at 360-289-0389.


Kite Flying
All you need to fly a kite in Ocean Shores is the kite – we’ll provide the wind! The finest kite stores in the Northwest are open year round to accommodate your kiting needs from new purchases to repairs. This is not a summer-only sport in this town, although we are well known for our annual kite festival every year the first weekend in June.

Miniature Golf
If you are looking for a miniature golf course – we have one just for you!! The Pacific Paradise offers 36 holes of fun for the novice or the skilled player, with plenty of obstacles. Water falls, bridges and fountains add to the lush setting with lighting for evening play.

Two of our hotels also offer miniature golf courses to their guests.

North Jetty
The North Jetty is located at the southwestern tip of the peninsula, approximately 6 miles from the gates of Ocean Shores. Watching the wave’s crash over the rocks is only one of Mother Nature’s displays that draw tourists and locals to this area. Jetty surf fishing for salmon and perch, surfing in the white-capped waves and kite flying are just some of the activities to enjoy down there. Abundant parking and public restrooms are available to the public.

Ocean Shores Cinema
Located in the heart of Ocean Shores, on Point Brown Ave. is our beautiful 3 screen cinema with state of the art sound and picture. Showing only first run movies, it’s a great escape for rainy days. Grab a bucket of popcorn and a drink and enjoy.

Ocean Shores Golf Course & Driving Range
Located in the heart of Ocean Shores is a 6,152 yard PGA rated course that meanders through town. Come visit their new pro shop and snack bar. Rental clubs and carts are available, as well as memberships for visitors as well as residents.

Our driving range is only a year old and is easily spotted from the golf course clubhouse, if you aren’t up to 18 holes - How about a bucket of balls?

Ocean Shores State Park
Located about 1 1/2 miles nother of Ocean Shores on St. Rt. 115 is Ocean City State Park. This 170 acre year round camp ground fill up early - be sure to make reservations early. Click here for additional information.
